Setup & use
How do I set it up?
Add ice to the fill line inside the cooler. Add cold water to the fill line. Close the lid by pressing it down until it seals. Click the pad hose onto the machine hose until you hear a snap. Plug the power supply into the back of the machine and into the wall to turn it on. To turn it off, unplug it. There is no on/off switch.
Does the IceMan Clear3 have a temperature dial?
No. The IceMan Clear3 has no temperature dial or timer. It keeps an average temperature between 45°F and 55°F. Keep the cooler filled with ice so it stays cold.
How long can I use it each day?
Follow your doctor's instructions. The IceMan is a prescription device. DonJoy says your prescription should tell you how long to use it, how often, and how long to rest between uses.
How do I clean and store it?
Unplug it, unhook the pad, drain the cooler and wipe it dry. Hold the pad with the hose pointing down, press the buttons at the hose end and let the water drain. Hand wash pads with mild soap and warm water and air dry. See our cleaning guide.

Is a pad included?
Only if you choose one. Pick a pad in the options above, or choose the cooler only if you already have an IceMan pad.
Will these pads fit the IceMan Classic3?
Yes. The IceMan Clear3 and IceMan Classic use the same pads. IceMan pads do not fit Breg or Aircast machines. See our IceMan pad and parts fit guide.
Which pad should I get for my knee?
For the knee, you can choose the McGuire knee pad (open at the kneecap), the Universal pad, or the larger Universal XL pad. Shop IceMan replacement pads, or call us at (704) 312-2575 and we will help you pick.
Can I use two pads at once?
Yes, with the IceMan Y adapter. It lets one IceMan run two pads.
Sizing
Which shoulder pad size do I need?
DonJoy's guideline: the small shoulder pad for a chest under 42 inches, the regular shoulder pad for 42 inches or more. Use the "Find my size" button near the Add to Cart button, or call us at (704) 312-2575.
Ice & water
How long does one fill of ice last?
Up to 6 hours of cold from one fill of ice and water. The see-through cooler shows you when to add more ice.
Can I use frozen water bottles?
DonJoy says no. The plastic keeps the ice from cooling the water well, and label paper or glue can get into the hose and pad. You can freeze water in cups or plastic containers and dump the ice blocks in, or use our reusable ice bag packs or reusable ice cubes.
The pad does not feel cold. What should I check?
Make sure the cooler is filled with ice and water and that air is out of the pad. Check that the hose is clicked in, not kinked, and that the pad is not wrapped too tight. Also check the water level and clean the filter cap under the pump.
Safety
Do I need something between my skin and the pad?
Yes, always. Never let the pad touch your skin. Use a barrier, such as IceMan sterile pads. If the barrier gets wet, stop using the machine.
Can I sleep with it on?
Only if your doctor says so. DonJoy says you must be able to check your skin under the pad at least every hour. Stop and call your doctor if you notice numbness, burning, blisters or color changes.

When will my order ship?
Orders placed before 12 PM (noon) ET, Mon–Fri, ship the same business day; orders after noon or on weekends ship the next business day. Free US shipping on orders $80+.
What is the warranty?
The machine has a 6-month manufacturer's warranty. Pads (wraps) have 1 month. Because these are medical products, we cannot accept returns once they ship unless the item is defective and covered by the warranty.
Parts & help
Do you sell a replacement power supply?
Yes. The Clear3 uses the DonJoy power supply (part 25-4882). The same part fits the original IceMan Classic. It does not fit the IceMan Classic3, which uses DonJoy part 25-4041. The two cords are not interchangeable.
Is the Clear3 or the Classic3 better for me?
Both work the same way and use the same pads. The Clear3 has a see-through cooler, so you can see the ice. The IceMan Classic3 has a handle that locks the lid. Call us at (704) 312-2575 if you are not sure.
