Breg® Polar Care Glacier Ice Machine

I received the Breg Polar Care Glacier Cold Therapy System at Dartmouth's New London Hospital following my knee replacement surgery. I loved it. It was quiet, easy to use, kept my knee cooled and swelling down. And it beat one that we had used for my mother - and kept having to replace the ice often. I liked it so much that I bought the system for my BFF who was approaching knee replacement in Wisconsin. She found it easy to use pre-op and so glad she had it post op. I highly recommend it. I like the glacier because it's large and should last a long time unlike the polar. I would like the pad more if the water came in from the side because it hurts my leg as it comes out and goes down the leg.

Having a problem with the pad for my hip. It leaks so much they it gets my bandage wet. I submitted a warranty claim.

This was knee surgery number seven for me and I have used a number of cold water circulation systems to minimize swelling and associated pain. I especially liked the large capacity water reservoir and this enabled me to go most of the day with one ice refill. I am very happy with the equipment and will use it again as needed. I cannot recommend a better system to reduce post surgical swelling and pain.
